General’s automatic center punches are a precise means of punching center holes for drilling in layout work. A single- handed operation with stored energy design eliminates the need for striking the punch with a hammer. Spring tension cap can be adjusted for light to heavy strokes. Punch depth can be set for repetitive work. Replacement points, shafts and moving parts are hardened alloy steel. For making lighter marking than our Heavy-Duty Punch No. 78. Black oxide finish inhibits rust. All-steel 5" body with threaded, replaceable hardened steel point (79P & 79P/2). Body diameter is 1/2".
